Maths Tutor

Make a Difference Through Personalised Maths Support

We're looking for a Maths Tutor to provide 1:1 support to children and young people across Bournemouth and the surrounding areas.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision and a more tailored approach to learning. Students may be working at a range of levels, from primary through to GCSE, and often benefit from dedicated support that helps improve confidence, strengthen mathematical understanding, and increase engagement with education.

This is a flexible opportunity for education professionals who enjoy adapting their teaching style to meet individual needs and seeing the direct impact of their support.

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
Strong Maths subject knowledge
Ability to deliver engaging and personalised sessions
Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally around Bournemouth and surrounding areas

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

Anxiety and school avoidance
EHCPs and additional educational needsEach learner follows an individual programme designed around their strengths, needs, and educational goals.
