Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer - Assurance to support quality infrastructure within a specialist submarine solutions environment. This contract role will provide expert Quality Engineering and Quality Assurance guidance, helping ensure compliance, continual improvement and effective delivery across the Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering guidance across the Business Unit
Undertake complex and non-routine quality activities in accordance with relevant processes and procedures
Lead and support internal and supplier audits, certification activities and quality investigations
Manage non-conformance resolution, corrective actions and verification with stakeholders and process owners
Facilitate root cause analysis using recognised methodologies, including Fishbone, 5 Why and Six Sigma approaches
Analyse quality data, identify trends and implement cross-functional continuous improvement actions
Support working groups, capture learning from experience and ensure agreed deliverables are achieved
Represent the Quality function at technical, quality and cross-functional reviews, liaising with customers where required
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance or a related quality discipline
Understanding and practical application of ISO 9001 and EN 9100 standards
Knowledge of Business Management Systems, operational assurance processes and quality governance
Experience interpreting specifications, procedures and contract requirements and communicating them to others
Strong capability in root cause analysis, action management and corrective action verification
Effective stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams
Understanding of product safety, export requirements and regulations such as ITAR where applicable
HNC or degree qualification in an appropriate technical discipline, or equivalent experience, with lead auditor status or equivalent quality expertise preferred
Working Arrangements:
12-month contract opportunity
37-hour working week
Four days on site and one day working from home, with flexibility regarding the remote-working day
Security clearance requirements apply
