Java Developer | AWS Microservices I SC Cleared

£280-£500 per day (Inside IR35/Umbrella)

Contract: 14 months
Locations: London, Manchester, Newcastle or Glasgow (2-3 days on site p/w)
Security Clearance: Existing SC or CTC preferred. SC eligibility required.
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a high-profile cloud transformation programme, working within a Scrum team responsible for developing and supporting services across a large-scale AWS-hosted microservices architecture.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, enterprise-level systems, contributing across the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with highly skilled engineers in a modern cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain Java-based microservices
Write clean, scalable and well-tested code
Perform unit testing and support integration testing activities
Conduct and approve peer code reviews (PR reviews)
Manage code promotion through multiple environments into production
Support CI/CD best practices and release processes
Mentor and develop junior team members
Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects and Scrum team members

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong commercial experience with Java 8+
Experience building cloud-based Microservices
Strong knowledge of:
Spring Boot
Maven
Guice
JUnit
PostgreSQL
Experience using Git-based source control tools such as Bitbucket/Git
Agile/Scrum delivery experience

Desirable Skills

AWS cloud services
Kubernetes
Helm
Jenkins
CI/CD pipelines and build automation
Experience supporting applications through to production environments
