Contract Electronics Engineer
Cambridge: Hybrid (3-4 days on site)
Contract: 12 Months, Inside IR35

Enjoy taking electronic designs from NPI into full production and owning what happens when things go wrong on the line?
We're working with a business bringing an advanced connected hardware product into volume manufacturing. They need an Electronics Engineer to lead hardware changes across new and legacy products, drive DFx and NPI work, own failure analysis and reliability testing, and act as the go-to component engineer as they support production sites worldwide and liaise with contract manufacturers, suppliers and engineering colleagues based internationally.
What You'll Bring
Strong grasp of electronic design principles and design-for-manufacture
Comfortable working across multiple engineering disciplines on one product
Several years' hands-on experience navigating global compliance and regulatory requirements
Working knowledge of PCB/PCBA design and assembly, batteries, RF, IR, and ATE-based testing
Board design experience in Altium or OrCAD is a plus
Confident communicator in English, written and verbal, including to senior stakeholders
Used to working in a matrixed, cross-cultural, global organisation
Genuinely hands-on with hardware, embedded interfaces, networking and debuggingAlso Valued
Familiarity with SQA processes and LabVIEW
Background with RF or other connected/smart product technology
Comfortable operating in complex, multidisciplinary projects
Experience coordinating with subcontractors and manufacturing partners on tester or prototype partsIf you want your electronics expertise to have a direct, visible line to the production floor, this is that role.
