Senior Project Engineer 

6 - 9 month contract

Solihull, M42 Project

£450-£500 per day (inside IR35)

Start: October 2026

Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate day-to-day engineering activities on site.
Provide technical support and guidance to the wider project team.
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
Review drawings, designs and technical information ahead of construction.
Oversee setting out, surveying and engineering checks where required.
Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, designers and other stakeholders.
Identify and resolve technical issues to maintain progress.
Support the preparation and review of RAMS, ITPs and relevant construction documentation.
Carry out quality inspections and maintain accurate engineering records.
Monitor subcontractor activities and ensure works meet required standards.
Assist with planning, sequencing and coordination of works.
Maintain as-built information and site documentation.
Ensure engineering activities are undertaken in line with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
Requirements:

Previous experience as a Senior Engineer, Project Engineer or experienced Site Engineer.
Strong civil engineering and site delivery experience.
Highways or major infrastructure experience is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and engineering standards.
Good setting out and surveying knowledge.
Experience managing and coordinating subcontractors.
Strong understanding of quality assurance and engineering documentation.
Ability to identify and resolve technical and construction issues.
Confident working independently and taking ownership of engineering packages.
Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
Relevant civil engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience
