Job Title: Site Manager - Civil Engineering

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum all inclusive of benefits (depending on experience)

Walker Construction is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our growing team for an exciting civil engineering project based in Witham, Essex.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and hands-on Site Manager looking to build a long-term career with an established and respected contractor. Whilst the project is within a railway station car park, previous rail experience is not essential. What is essential is a strong civil engineering background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to hit the ground running on a fast-paced project.
The initial project is expected to last approximately 12 months, with ongoing opportunities available within Walker Construction beyond this scheme.
About the role:
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
Key duties:
* Managing all site activities and subcontractors
* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
* Coordinating labour, plant and materials
* Liaising with clients, stakeholders and the wider project team
* Monitoring progress and resolving issues as they arise
* Producing site records and maintaining project documentation
* Driving programme delivery while maintaining high standards of workmanship
About you:
* Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering projects
* Strong leadership and organisational skills
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach
* Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
* SMSTS essential
* CSCS Manager Card essential
* First Aid at Work desirable
* Ideally located within commuting distance of Witham, Essex
