About this contract

A global medical device company are looking for a Lead Engineer / Scientist to join their Research and Development team on a contract basis. The purpose of the role is to lead the design of the embolic design element of the project. Leading a team in the development of drug-device combination products with a focus on the drug side. This is an early stage R&D role requiring formulation experience for hydrogels, injectables and pre filled syringes (PFS). You will need to have a polymer background and experience of laboratory methods.

Required Skills:

Early-stage R&D formulation experience
Polymer / chemistry background
Polymer characterisation techniques
Injectables / sterile injectables experience
Pre-filled syringe / PFS combination product design requirements
Sustained release or hydrogel based formulation design
Leadership experience
Desirable: Embolization product design

The start date is for ASAP but we can wait for the right person's notice period. The initial contract length is for 12 months, with multiple options to extend after. The role is based in Limerick and will require 2-3 days onsite per week, the rest of the time you can work remotely. The rate is €50-65 per hour, depending on experience, if you have any expenses please let me know and I can factor that into the rate for you.
