About this contract

Vital is looking for a proactive and organised Stores Coordinator to support our Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) operations in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading infrastructure business, ensuring critical materials, tools and plant are effectively managed to support the safe and efficient delivery of rail projects across the region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, coordinating the movement of materials, and ensuring operational teams have the equipment required to deliver projects safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the receipt, storage, issue and distribution of OLE materials, tools and equipment.

* Maintain accurate stock records and inventory management systems.

* Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts.

* Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment activities.

* Ensure all materials are stored, handled and distributed in accordance with company procedures.

* Coordinate deliveries and collections with suppliers, depots and project teams.

* Process delivery notes, goods received documentation and stock transactions.

* Support compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards.

* Assist with depot organisation and housekeeping to maintain a safe working environment.

* Liaise closely with project and site teams to meet operational requirements.

About YouEssential Requirements

* Previous experience within a Stores, Warehouse, Logistics, Materials Coordinator or Inventory Control role.

* A full UK driving licence.

* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Desirable

* Experience working within the rail industry, ideally supporting OLE or infrastructure projects.

* Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance).

* Experience using inventory or ERP systems.

* Knowledge of rail industry materials, plant and equipment
