SEND Teaching Assistant (Nurture Room) – Werneth Primary School

The Supply Register is delighted to be working in partnership with Werneth Primary School to recruit a caring, patient, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within the school's Nurture Room.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally in a nurturing environment.

About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant within the Nurture Room, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support for pupils with a range of special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will play a vital role in helping children develop confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
✅ Support children with social, emotional, and behavioural development.
✅ Assist in delivering intervention activities and nurture-based programmes.
✅ Build positive relationships that help pupils feel safe, supported, and valued.
✅ Work closely with teachers, SENDCOs, and other professionals to support individual learning plans.
✅ Encourage positive behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing.
✅ Help create a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

What We're Looking For

⭐ Experience working with children with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs.
⭐ A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
⭐ Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
⭐ Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
⭐ A genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing.
⭐ Relevant qualifications or experience within education are desirable but not essential.
