The Role – 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Post-16 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a specialist SEN provision in Greenwich. The student may also present with communication difficulties, sensory processing needs, and challenging behaviour.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the day
* Supporting the student’s academic, social, and emotional development
* Encouraging independence and preparing the student for adulthood
* Working closely with tutors, therapists, and SEN staff to implement personalised strategies
Experience with ASD, PECS, visual timetables, or life skills programmes is highly desirable.
The School – Post-16 SEN Provision
This specialist setting in Greenwich supports young people aged 16–25 with a range of complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, SLCN, and SEMH. The provision focuses on functional learning, vocational training, and independent living skills, preparing students for further education, employment, or supported living.
