Prospero Teaching are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive specialist setting in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed to supporting pupils with special educational needs, SEMH, behavioural difficulties and complex learning needs.
The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs, while creating a calm, structured and supportive learning environment. The role may involve working with pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour, so strong relationship-building and behaviour management skills are essential.
Key responsibilities:
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated SEN lessons
Supporting pupils with a range of additional and complex needs
Adapting teaching strategies to individual learning profiles
Managing behaviour positively and supporting emotional regulation
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Monitoring progress and supporting individual learning targets
Working closely with TAs, SENCOs and other professionals
Creating a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment
Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence and life skills
Contributing to EHCP targets and individual learning plans
Ideal candidate:
QTS is essential
Previous SEN teaching experience is highly beneficial
Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, ADHD or behavioural needs
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Patient, resilient and adaptable
Confident differentiating teaching to meet individual needs
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
