Just do a credit history check. Then if a telecoms firm comes up and the data is incorrect do a data subject access request to the company following the template letter the ICO give on their website. Make sure a day time phone number is on the request letter. (I always include a cheque for £10 so they can't delay further. )
The telecoms provider should phone you up and will ask you what you want to know. You tell them the information is wrong. They should then correct your credit record.
