A shared photo album for non-techies

I was recently in an amateur theatre production and many of us took photos. We've been posting them on our individual FaceBook pages and in a private group but the group won't be around for ages and I wanted to set up a way we can all see each others' photos easily. It's also a requirement that this isn't publicly visible, i.e. only those contributing photos can see the album, or similar.

FB seems the most obvious because virtually everyone uses it but I'm not quite sure if it is appropriate. I know I can create an album and invite contributors but then it's still "my" album.

Any comments? Ease of use is key here.

Could you not use a drop box and share the folder? Guess it fails the ease of use if people haven't used it before though

Or how about whatsapp? We have a tour group we all contribute and comment on. Need to have to add everyone individually though.

Kik is what all the cool kids (and terrorists and those that want to remain anonymous for whatever reason ) are using these days.

I think DB has built-in image viewing support these days but it would mean everyone has to sign up (if it was public this wouldn't be so bad). And have the apps on mobile devices - FB is so ubiquitous.

If your willing to pay then https://www.smugmug.com/ is good. I use this for all my photo's and serves as a backup. You can share and make pages private etc.

I can bet my 50 shares of FB that it will be around for a lot longer than you think and with all the money that they still have, the get the best engineers, your photos are pretty well backed up.
I suppose you can upload them to a competing website like Flickr or Google+/Picasa/Drive and be done with it.

Have you tried selling photos on there, seeing how well it integrates with Facebook, it appears a viable option
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.
