    Cross Tyne Bus Services

What's the scuttlebutt on North East bus services these days?

I need to get from Ebchester, co. Durham to Bellingham, Northumberland.

In the past I would have done United / Go Ahead Northern -> Newcastle, City Busways -> Haymarket & Northumbria -> Bellingham.

No that everything is run by Stagecoach / First Bus, is there an integrated cross Tyne service these days?

Can't you get a bus to Blaydon or the Metro Centre then a train to Hexham and a bus to Bellingham?

28 miles, but 2.5 hours on public transport

Route is the same as suggested by GlenW

              I'd prefer the bus, thankyou.

Every time I've been on that train it has been commandeered by the curry house on Corbridge station and I've been surrounded by drunkards stuffing their faces with puppudums.

The armed Sikh gentlemen who stand at each end of the carriage are a little fearsome too.

Only a suicidal fool would do that!
You could cycle up the A68 and go across but it isn't much better.

Sorry, I'd assumed that you were travelling during the day. There is a bus from Blaydon or the Metro Centre to Hexham though.

Surely they'd be rather useful if some kind of terrorist situation kicked off, probably more useful than plod these days
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.
