    Bank of Grandad and Granma...

Older borrowers may be offered mortgages into their 80s and 90s - Telegraph

Back to 2007 then. Multigenerational, 125% mortgages with a free car. Fill yer boots, it will end well I'm sure.

More bank bailouts and higher taxes to pay for it all when it goes a bit wrong.

All about LTVs but essentially its lower risk for banks - they'll have an asset which they have first dibs on when codger shuffles off their mortal coil.
£400k house, £200k equity in it. House gets sold, bank gets its money back and estate gets the rest. Much lower risk and if the mortgage holder's a stiff, no repossession needed to get the Daily Heil up in arms about.
