Who says inflation, except for house prices, is dead?

I was in my local high street yesterday and noticed that the 99p Store has been replaced by The Pound Shop. What next? The One Pound and a Penny Market?

I am not made of money. I shall never shop there again.

You think that is bad, a lot of "pound" shops, I have seen, a lot of things are well over a pound anyway.

Like houses, I guess it must be a London thing

Parking in city center gone up from £1.70 to £1.80, surprised they did not reduce time from 30 mins to 15

One council in London had to reduce their parking from £2.40 an hour to £1 an hour in some bays. People stopped using them so the local shops were suffering.

Last time I checked it was £1 or maybe even £2 for 15 mins near Oxford street and that was 10 years ago!

The 99p shop opened 10 years ago.

So that is 0.1% a year inflation.

              Hardly Zimbabwe.

The local Estate agents have house prices on a counter which increase as you watch them....

Same price does not mean there is no inflation - quality and quantity of product will inevitably vary...
