Helicopter money is a one off.

Switzerland is voting on a similar proposal in June - 2500CHF per month per adult resident, a smaller amount per child. The idea is to reduce the size of the benefit system. After a certain point, the money is clawed back via taxation. Since people, at least up to that point, keep what they earn extra, it should reduce benefit dependency. It probably won't be accepted.

Would all the bogus "asylum seekers" get this free money too?

Another leftie idea to attract more unwelcome, unchecked and unnecessary immigration to the land of freebies....

I read the article and not once was there any mention of inflation, £100 a week sounds great but if a loaf of bread was to cost £5 it wouldn't go very far.

This is why it is another form of helicopter money.

The govt is desparate for price inflation to make the exponential debt mountain to look a little better.

Why not give everyone a free house?

A bit like the govt divorcing everybody...
