Because selling a notebook is meant to be trendy. Despite what u see in films, hackers use desktops and servers mostly. Laptops only for wardrives.

For most noobs win xp is trendy and they have not heard of linux or unix, hence the average laptop gets targeted at noobs, who spend a months wages on software that will let them down.
