Also it is disrespectful to call anyone by the name they don't use whether they are married or not. In the UK you can go by what name you like as long as you aren't doing it for fraudulent purposes.
Mother-in-laws often use this as a weapon against their daughter-in-laws who refuse to change their lastnames on marriage.
