    Hmrc interest charges

Has anyone had any success in reducing your interest charges that hmrc apply if the scheme has not been challenged and n court and one decides to pay the tax element- any feedback would be welcome ? Also what’s the process for objecting given my scheme provider is maintaining it is legal?

HMRC will not negotiate on interest charges.

If tax is due and is paid late, interest is legally due and will not be waived.

Thank David Hartnett for that one after he let off a big bank several million pounds of interest and screwed the position for every subsequent negotiation.
