I've been receiving this spam / phishing expedition every day for weeks now. How come it hasn't been closed down yet, and the perpetrators banged to rights?

I get every bank several times a day. Nationwide, Barclays, HSBC, Egg, you name it.
No one cares. I've contacted the banks and they don't give a toss. Same for the fraud office. Not interested.Comment

Most of this traffic is spam generated from Botnets - ie unsuspecting users whose PC machines have been infected with Malware and Spam Engines - there are various ways in which this type of Spam can be eliminated - but if you want to know how then Im afraid I will have to charge you a fiver.
PS Wendigo - do you receive these spams in your private or work email account ?

I get over 200 spams a day now, of which BT Yahoo only manage to intercept half of them, despite me marking all spam in my inbox.Comment

I just run my own mail server and spamassassin makes short work of most spams with some good rules set up.Comment
