Yesterday the little guy got a high temperature and a LOT of swelling below the chin. So off to the hospital he went and it looks like he's got a pretty severe abcess below the chin.
They're pumping him up with three different types of antibiotic intravenously every three hours. I barely managed to get any sleep at all. And he had to sleep with me as he's quite clingy when he's ill.
This morning though he appeared better and was walking all over the ward. Until he was run over by a far sighted nincompoop who apologised by saying "I do the same thing to my daughter at home all the time." Great, what we need is more clumsy doctors.
The main specialist on his case is a tall (and I'm talking six foot) german female...who speaks english extremely well. and she seems very good.
I'm at home now resting before returning for his ultra-sound scan of his chin area later today and then take the night shift once again. Its okay except for the nutty asian couple in the corner (the woman wearing a veil BTW) and their late night argument and the psycho kid who sings "teenage kicks" all night.
