    Here we go again!

Just got email from agent, content includes:

    Contractors with CVs showing
contract lengths under 12 months in duration will not be considered
I last saw this stupid stipulation back in 2003 - i'm not on the market but it struck me that if this is starting again then it won't be long before the attempt to reduce rates in situ starts

Since most of our roles are specific project based with fixed durations I cannot understand why any client would state this.

Personaly I have had contracts of 30 - 9 months duration and always get extended... but would presumably be ineligible for this role!
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

Not a problem. Just list the four 3 months projects under one heading.

One, they'll never check, two, it makes BA difference.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

I don't like the idea of being in one place for more than a year - I get itchy feet.

Longest project I've ever done was 18 months - shortest was 1 month this year to fix 10 specific problems and then leave. Goes down on the CV as "Troubleshooter"

This usually means that the contract is boring, and that most people
would leave quickly, so they really need a bum on seat (bos) type
contractor who doesn't mind this and can last out a few years.

Nothing wrong with that if they pay a fat wedge and you don't let your skills completely die.

Exactly, just a matter of finding the right candidate to fit the role.
