    Low emission cars

any info regarding to tax advantages for purchasing low carbon emission cars

I am considering buying through the company instead of claiming the mileage and would be grateful for any input on this

Not sure if this is relevant, but I think something similar was discussed last year:

(I had to search for hatchback to find it though!)

Search on HMRC website for QUALEC (Quaifying Low Emissions Cars)

This doesn't start until April 08 by the way.

I must admit, I was looking into the new 1600cc deisel Focus Estate. Not my car of choice but it does start to cost in. Not too sure about the depreciation though. I guess you could use that to your advantage though by buying it off the company after 2/3 years and then claim the 40/25p per mile?

I had a RX400h leased through my company. My tax hit was around 3k per year. For comparison purposes, the BMW X5 was almost double that...

                Older and ...well, just older!!
