    Notary public - £180/hr

Just been getting prices for a Notary Public to witness to docs. £180/hr

    Almost makes SAP look cheap.

Anyone here earning more than £180/hr in IT?

I thought they had to charge £5 per document? I believe it is a legal requirement for all solicitors...

How many documents do you have?

One document. £180/hr, min charge £60 if less than 1 hour.

      A notary public.

Does it have to be a notary public? Will not a solicitor do? Can you google/phone round for other quotes?

Nope must be a Notary and must then be sent away to be apostilled.

I got a notary who's also a solicitor to witness a document a couple of weeks ago. £20 cash for about 20 mins work on a beat-up old manual typewriter (who still uses those?!?!?). He's in Northern Ireland though so might be out of your way.

Apostille in London took longer and cost more.

Try looking around for a cheaper notary?

I guess Dim is marrying a foreigner in their country and has to complete the doco according to their specification, that or something to do with the villa,

maybe cheaper to go to the country concerned and get a local notar to notarise the doco

in cz a notarized document costs about a quid

                Milan.
