I've been told I'm into my last month. The way I'm currently paid I'm a month behind. Usually I take out most of the money at the end of each month. However last night I sat down and worked out my DD's for each month and worked out I can live on £2.5K each month which includes a bit of spare cash for nights out and so forth. I can do this for 6 months before I'm f e c k'd. My plan is a couple of months off (whilst still looking for work). This would be my first time doing this. What are the pros and cons? anyone else done this? obviously the OH is not pleased of my plan

You must have a huge mortgage and/or debts if you need £2.5K a month to survive.
No wonder the country is doomed ...Hard Brexit now!

The median wage in the UK is circa 25k a year before tax, less than 20k after, you can't live off 30k after tax?
On the bench at the moment and I'd say I'm spending about 1500 a month including socialising, so yes it's easy to live off 2500 a monthLast edited by Bagpuss; 1 May 2008, 09:57.The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

I can manage on < 1500 a month easy.
Bills and stuff are about 1100 so leaves say about 400 for shopping!Eeyore was very glad to be able to stop thinking for a little, in order to say "How do you do" in a gloomy manner to Pooh.
"And how are you?" said Winnie-the-Pooh.
Eeyore shook his head from side to side. "Not very how," he said. "I don't seem to felt at all how for a long time."Comment

i'd say in this climate that during ur time off enjoy it but still keep looking and if something comes sooner than expected jump on it.
Did the time off thing from Nov till Jan last yr ....enjoyed it till got thorougly bored.
As for 2.5k/month ,.... must be having a substantial mortgage/outstanding finances ... but thats an OK figure ( prob similar to me tho I dnt have any outstanding finance just the bl00dy mortgage is a killer!
Im finding market a bit dry .... agents offering horrendous rates prob taking a bigger slice due to "credit crunch" rubbish.
Ah well 6 weeks left on this gig .... who knows when next one will be!Comment
