    Feel the rage!!!!

Ok...its that time of year when your old contract has come to an end and one starts looking for a new contract/sugar daddy.

What I have found the most frustrating though are the job ads that are being posted (Huxley and Accenture seem to be the worst culprits) every day for the same position that you have apparently had your CV sent down for (not accenture since they are the outsourced scum).

Whats even more frustrating is when you call an agent to ask about a position and they tell you its closed off...only for the ad to continue to appear on jobserve et al!

Most frustrating I tell you!!! >:

Its now obvious that whats required here is direct government intervention where any company wanting to get in to the recruiting lark has to be a registered agency, much like how taxi's are controlled so tightly. God, wouldnt that solve a lot of problems and get rid of a lot of cowboys!

    government intervention
We have enough of that already.

Just deal with decent agencies (about .01% of the agencies in the UK). Tell the others to f u ck off!

    Works for me.

You know I reckon if the government regulated employment agencies like they do taxis we would get a group of people who actually do what they say they do.

I think we would also get a lot of the cowboys out of the industry (sort of like mini cabs).

The main problem is to do with skill shortages.

Surely by advertisng this way consultancies can state there are no skilled peeps and hence import some.

            Expat

I noticed that the other day too. Exactly the same Siebel skills needed in Frankfurt, Paris, Milan and Amsterdam.

I never expect Jobserve to reflect actual jobs. A Siebel specialist agent will have a handful of Siebel jobs, and will also post Siebel ads on Jobserve every now and again. They bear little relation to each other, but it seems to work out OK

Is it really? I bet most of those jobs dont even exist.
