    Bargain - I think!!

Doing the annual trawl for insurance. Contract states 1 mill for PII/PL/EL.

    Trafalgar - 800 notes
    Caunce O'Hara - 700 notes
Randell Dorling - 200 notes if a PCG member at 120 notes

I was going to bin PCG and go TLC35 but membership has just paid for itself for another year. I'll go TLC35 as well for added peace of mind and it will still come in at just over a ton over Trafalgar.

Or am I missing something vitally important?

Sometimes cheaper PI can be "pooled". So here there is an individual liability of X but also a combined liability of Y. Effectively underwriters provide a certain level of cover and some providers sell it in small chunks. Obviously if everybody needs to claim this can result in capped payouts.

Don't think you're missing anything, but surprised at the figures you've quoted. I've just renewed my PI/PL/EL with Caunce O'Hara for £300 with the same cover. Only discount I get is through Contractor Alliance membership on here.

Just checked all details, my cover is:

          PI £250k
          EL £5M
          PL £1M

Maybe it's the lower value for PI cover that's making the difference (?)

Almost certainly. PI Cover is usually the most expensive bit.
