Nobody can prevent the pain we are going to suffer over those 20 months, so it would be better for the c*** to stay in number 10 and (deservedly) get the full blame for it.

He is going to get re-elected!!!
He is going to put all the countries woes down to the global credit crunch which is well beyond his control.
He is going to point at the Tories and their friends in the banking world and say the current crisis was caused by people like them.
He is going to tell us that this will not be over quickly.
He will then tell us how we are safe in his hands and that he is prudent, experienced and competent.
Once he thinks the plebs have swallowed it he will call a snap election for a mandate to steer us through these turbulent waters.
      HE WILL WIN.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

You'll be lucky. We've already had the LAST election we're going to have for many decades.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

                  eh whats goign on here?

ive seen 3 posts by expat..

"One thing is going to stop that, and it is the opposite of what all you Tories think it is: He is actually a good Chancellor, but not a good PM. So he looks good now, because he is being the real Chancellor again. When he goes back to being PM he may revert.

Unless of course by that time the job of PM consists mostly of governing the banks and markets....."

                  and

                  "because its all true"

                  now just the 1.. eh
