I voted for the first one, most people who go on about 'PC gone mad' don't have a proper grasp of what political correctness is.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

If OTOH they are and remain the party of Thatcher, they can never get my vote.
Edit: I am in favour of libertarianism and democracy; fiscal conservatism and spending where needed; small government but concerned and humane government; business sense and community intervention: I do not see those in CON any more than in LAB.Last edited by expat; 1 April 2009, 12:19.Comment

Could there be such a thing as a 'libertarian socialist'? I don't mind the idea of everyone being looked after... as long as they're prepared to pull their bloody weight and don't tell me how I should live my life.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. I wonder if it's only people/families who were adversely affected by Thatcherite policies that hate the conservatives?
If that's the case, I wonder if Labour/Blair/Brown will be similarly hated in 10 years time?"See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment
