    Netherlands, senior Java + a niche skill = 65 eur/h too much?

    Hi guys,

given the above, plus the fact that clientco is rather big and profitable company, plus I've already demonstrated _very_ good command of the required (and niche) skills (I have 9 years of Java) - do you think that at this time 65 eur/h in Amsterdam is way too high?

The taxes/deductions in NL are around 60% to start with.

    Any advices are welcome.

Doesn't sound too high. Get a better tax setup.

Recruiters are trying to push me down, and at the same time they say "the more you get, the more we get" - anyone heard of agents working on a fixed pct provision? Sounds tullipy.

The taxes should ease up a little after dutch govt office approves me for 30% non-taxable, accountant says there's no better way / no more room for significant improvement.

Client has already expressed interest in me - any sense to communicate directly with them about the rate / agency commission / etc.?
