The world doesn't need project managers for the time being (there's a glut of them although I'm sure you're better than most) - find a niche technical skill and this is the crucial bit, one that requires face to face contact, and retrain. Look at the BI space in particular.Hard Brexit now!

I suspect you'll get bored before we do.
Read your blog and sorry to hear about what's been going on, but chin-up and all that.
Definitely agree with the qualification side of things. I've been on the bench now for 4 months. With hindsight, I should've spent some time learning a new skillset instead of reviving an old hobby (flying r/c planes).
Fingers crossed for you old chap...Illegitimus non carborundum est!Comment

I'd give money to see the look on Malvolio's face after reading SAS's post!

Can I plug My Blog too?
It may be another of my foul mouthed rants, but it doesn't scream LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSER
Honestly, never tell any potential clients about it as they will run a mile. Do something creative and sell yourself. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

On a more serious note Mal...
I'm 'technical' ITIL - I implement it, I create processes for it, I train it.
Most importantly I market myself in it. The November conference is important for me to show my face and network.
It's through that that I managed to get my name into one of the V3 books - an acknowledgement from an ITIL author goes a long way to getting your foot in the door...
You don't do the actual implementation - I work for you - you PM it.
You need to look at what you can give in a slightly different way - I think you need to look at Business Change and Managing Programs where ITIL and Service Management is only part of the solution.
And I know that you know this, but honestly - there is work out there for Business Change PMs - we just need to find it for you..
PM me and you can use me as a sounding board"I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."
