    40th Birthday Etiquette

A good mate of mine hits the big 4O in a couple of weeks.

I am wondering if I should buy him anything, say a bottle of whisky/ alternative, or if this is not really the done thing. We don't agreeably bother with cards etc for our other birthdays.

Sorry if this appears a bit of a dumb question, for some reson I find myself in a bit of a dilema over this

I would buy him the whiskey and help him consume it.

Hopefully, by the time YOU hit 40 you`ll have learned how to spell.

Not bothered about that for this particular posting - not relevant. Next.

I would be very pleased if a good friend bought me a 40th birthday present from here

If your friend likes whisk(e)y, then go for it.

            WHS.

Whatever he drinks, get a decent bottle of that. Even if he's just a beer drinker, there are some premium brews (no, not just Carlsberg Special Brew) that are available.

There comes a point in a woman's life, especially when she has a few years' experience in the workplace under her belt, where it is just not credible to pretend to be 21 anymore.

You are going to have to switch to being 25 I'm afraid.

Oh bugger, rumbled again. OP - A 40th birthday present would be a nice gesture.
