One is considering, alongside the replacement of our cathode ray tube television set with a modern Liquid Crystal Device, the purchase of some modern system for the viewing of pre-recorded televisual programmes and yet more Hungarian biology films.
Given that one owns a ‘DVD player’ which one never uses, and which is malfunctioning by offering me a ‘menu choice’ not described in the instruction manual when I attempt to play back the Pixies' Doolittle, but one wishes to continue utilizing one’s existing ‘woofer’ and mini-speakers, which are of some considerable quality, one wishes to have an ‘integrated’ system of televisual pleasure and recording facilities.
Should one opt for ‘Empee three’, ‘Blue Raymond’ (I think that’s the kind of film my neighbour watches), or some other modern technological marvel?
One important functional requirement is considerable ease of use; I have no desire for complicated installation procedures or configuration processes, seeing as I spend my weekdays with dysfunctional electronic apparatus.
