That's more than twice what I pay for a local accountant to provide the same service. I've found that in general the specialist web accountants charge more and provide a worse service than a local bod who deals with a variety of clients and is close enough to my home for me to pop round to see if the need arises.

£120 a month sounds a lot even with the insurance included. I would definitely shop around

well, I don't think it's that awful actually.

the cheapest insurance quote I had was 200 quid. I also paid 200 or so for PCG membership. and about 90 quid for accountants.

IF (and its a bigish IF) the insurance is pucker AND the IR35 cover is worth anything to you, then that possibly puts the standard accounts package around 90 quid a month, which is abut the going rate for a "specialist" one stop shop like Nixon Williams, K&B etc.

          who are they?

Dunno yet, he hasn't launched the service, and won't do until he works out a decent price to charge...

              Dire.

Most accountants who regularly post on here charge much less.

For example lots do free company formation if you stay with them for a year.

Insurance for IR35 and PI is a lot less for some and more for others. Not everyone on here contracts in IT or on the same sort of systems. You would be better of sending your clients to an insurance broker.

You need to do more research maybe use the search facility to see what the other accountants who post on here charge?

I gues it does depend if you need the insurance or not and if you want your contract reviewed for IR35.

If I go with Nixon Williams or Intouch that costs £75 per month.

The cheapest insurance I have been quoted is £310 for the year (although this now looks expensive compared to what people are saying).

Bauer & Cottrell do IR35 review for £75 and registered office (because I cant use my rented flat) I have found for £15

so thats £122 per month as seperates....and thats without the IR35 cover (abbey tax I believe).

                Am i missing something?

Actually, NW do charge more if you use them as a registered office. It is my only gripe - so far............

That's just one IR35 review though - if you have three in a year it becomes expensive paying for them each time.

Many accountants will also allow you to use their office as your registered office and service address free of charge, along with covering the £15 annual filing fee in their charges.

Also check on extras - things like mortgage references.
