Talk about world domination. On the recruitment grapevine it is understood that the world domination freaks led by the diminutive (short person syndrome/bullied at school) Terry Leahy, have appointed a headhunter to recruit 150 non foods marketing specialists. Argos and Dixons are in a panic because their leading people are being lured away with golden hellos and "fill yer trolly" incentives. No one yet knows who the headhunter is, but I wouldnt mind 33% of 150 placemants @£150,000. Where does it end? I for one will not spend a penny of my contractors easily earned margin at one of their boring stores.

Originally posted by MordacOK I'll concede to you on that one. However, the point I was trying to make was that they (Argos & Dixons) are going to miss their soon-to-be-ex-customers more than their soon-to-be-ex-marketing bods, ultimately. Fair?

It certainly seems that Tesco are venturing into waters other than food. My local store is now absolute chaos because they are building an extra floor to accommodate the extra electricals and clothing they are going to sell come the summer.
There have already been some v. good electrical deals instore in the last few months. I suspect, once the new floor is opened, there'll be even more good deals.
Tesco Online is already quite keen with respect to pricing of TVs etc.
I think I might just invest in some of their shares....
Dixons et al can go hang anyway.... in my view they sell tat at highly inflated prices - just like Ratners did (Oooops - showing my age there!)Comment

I am not the only one that holds this view and Tesco are very wary of how the Uk consumer is beginning to change its perspective of them. Do not get me wrong I admire them hugely, they have done more for food retail in terms of giving choice and low prices to the proletariat than any govt or arse licking member of the Sainsbury family, but they are just too powerful.
Anyway I dont do business with anyone who excludes my company from their PSLLet us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment
