How to extricate from a fixed term contract?

Hi- How could I honestly and legally extricate myself from a fixed term contract before the contract termination date? Will my agency ask for me to compensate for the residual term? Will it refuse to issue me a P45 or an employment reference letter?

Sounds like this is one of those dodgy 1 year fixed term contracts where you're actually perm, but only for a year. Personally they strike me as the worst of all worlds, and I avoid them like the plague, but the answer as always is:

                "What does your contract say?"
And the lord said unto John; "come forth and receive eternal life." But John came fifth and won a toaster.

                  it says-
"contract cannot be terminated by either party till dd-mm-yyyy"
