PI Insurance in UK for French resident

I'm a UK national resident in France, I was contracting as a programmer in the UK for 15 years before moving to France 5 years ago.

I am now contracting in the UK again, but I can't find an insurance company that will provide Professional Indemnity cover in my situation, i.e. resident in France and registered as a french business but working for UK companies. I've tried the French insurance company we use for house and car insurance, Allianz, but they have turned me down because I work 100% for UK companies, they suggested I tried a UK insurance company. I haven't tried Allianz in the UK yet, but all other agents I have approached in the UK so far say they can only provide cover for UK registered businesses.

Can anyone suggest an insurance company, in UK or France, that will cover me in my situation? I will try some other French insurance companies on Monday, but I'm hoping there are other contractors out there in the same situation who have found suitable cover.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Update

Well, it seems no insurance company in the UK can/will offer insurance to businesses registered outside of the UK. However I have now found a couple of companies in France who will cover me as a French registered business working in the UK. So, I'm sorted now, although it is a lot more expensive than in the UK. Quelle surprise.

In case anyone else is in a similar position to me, Hiscox.fr is the company I've gone with, although I'm slightly disappointed that when hiscox uk told me they couldn't do anything for me, they didn't suggest their French branch might be able to help, I got the recommendation from another UK insurance agent.

      PI Insurance

A good company for PI Insurance, in case you needed to know - they might be able to help, I've found their advice to be really helpful in the past: Qdos specialise in low cost Professional Indemnity - Employers and Public Liability and IR35 insurance

You need a broker with experience of placing multinational insurance as this is pretty standard and nothing too difficult to arrange. Recommend w ww.wdenis.co.uk
