Vince Cable calls for mansion tax in next Budget

Vince Cable calls for mansion tax in next Budget - Telegraph

Why only on homes worth over £2m? Homes are alot easier to value and tax than earnings. And it might let houses come down to a value where young people can afford them. And then people might invest in companies rather than houses.

So true, and the person who originally said that (with "leaders" instead of "governments") should know - Adolf Hitler.

Why not just take the idea to its logical conclusion and impose a land value tax?

While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

The difference being that Council Tax has a maximum rate, meaning people in £10m houses pay the same as those with a lowly £1m flat in Wandsworth.
