My firm Smith Craven has many contractor clients that have their self assessment included in the set monthly fee.

So they don't pay extra for this.

      Hope that helps

Just be careful that they ensure you tax it correctly; it's both a BIK and not CT deductable.

It depends how it's billed. If you have a monthly fee and terms of engagement that say "be a monthly client and we'll do your tax return for free" then there's no BIK as there's no incremental cost.

FFS - It takes me about 10 -20 mins to fill it in on line as long as you have your figures ready. Why do you need to pay someone else to do it?

Depends how complicated it is. Dividends, salary and bank interest are easy. What about rental profits, foreign income and capital gains? Some of those aren't easy at all from a laymans point of view, let alone using the HMRC site to declare them.

Exactly, I don't think I should be! Im moving from Nixon Williams as they are always increasing prices and charge £75 for the SA.

Agree with what Claire said the dividends, salary etc is easy but the others are not if you are a layman and the HMRC site for me is not set up in the best way to put these on.

As accountants we use our own accountany and tax software which we love

if in doubt use an accountant and at least you can go to them for professional advice if you do need it
