London contractors who stay during the week.

Just interested in a quick straw poll of contractors who are working in London and stay up during the week. It's been a while and Ive no idea of the costs anymore.

How much on average do you spend per week on accomodation?
What happens in General, stays in General.

Down. You stay down during the week. London's at the bottom.

Last time I was there it cost around £300 per week. Is that still reasonable?

WHS - We go down to work with the no tails

I rent a room, costs £450 per month but I am slumming it.
I'd spend £600 a month next time on something better

If Menelaus is still in clink you can rent his place.

It depends on where you are working and how long you want to travel, I stayed in Docklands (waterfront apartment) cleaner etc. Travelled to the city by Thames Clipper, lunches etc about 1.5 - 2K a month.

Have occasionally looked up room rent in Tottenham, for the just in case scenario and going rate in our area is about £100-125 pw inc bills.
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.

Me too. Did it for 6 months as a breather when the commute started to get too much.
