    Civil servants "work" from home

London 2012 Olympics: Civil servants to work from home | Mail Online

Better still lets give them 7 weeks off. Productivity in the real world will go up. Then we can sack them and save money and be more efficient.

The civil servants we really need (teachers, nurses, firemen) cant work from home anyway.

If, in some some of amazing turn of events, productivity does not go up then they can be relocated to somewhere outside London. Not sure I know of anywhere outside London - as I dont have a passport I have never been. I am sure I read about somewhere up North or is this just a myth?

    It's just a myth.

We do however have a dumping ground called Bridgewater
Confusion is a natural state of being

Why deride them for something that we all do ourselves?

Because if I dont provide anything useful I get sacked.

Furthermore the extra cost of these hangers on means that we cannot compete with Asia.

I for one welcome our new short-arse, slitty eyed overlords!

Are they not "entitled" to perks that private sector workers enjoy ? If they are not offered these perks, the public sector will lose the highly talented workers to the private sector and the quality of service will go down.
