    Mid contract blues

I'm 6 months in and man this contract feels like the worst one i've ever done. Utterly soul destroying. Rate cuts after 2 months of starting, the work we are doing is not the specialist work we were hired for, useless BAs creating confusion, tight deadline, vague requirements, the usual corporate sociopaths interfering, etc, etc..

I have to remind myself of the money every day. But ... there is no way i'd jack it in. I just reduce my hours and throw myself into exercise to keep the mental strength up.

This should be a lesson to you Suity.

In my student days I once worked at place for six days and three evenings,
at the end of the week I would pick up the grand total of £180.

I have never forgotten that time and no matter how bad things get at ClienCo and at the moment they are the worst I have ever known, I never walk away, because it is sure better than those summer jobs I did.

It sounds like you need a career plan.

Where do you want to be in 5 years?
        Fiscal nomad it's legal.

Ha. I'll be retired (from IT) in 2 years unless I acquire some kids.

Ah, he's too old for that. Already potty trained though, so will save you a few quid on nappies.

Ask youself...would you rather be on the bench or be being soul destoyed yet invoicing...? Appreciate it gets to a certain point...
