    Landlords and HMO regs

Just watched on he Sunday politics the new landlord registration and HMO regs, council defending the regulations and am all for them protecting the exploited.
However, how come the council are not sticking by their own standards and regulations, some of the council housing are in appalling condition, and not fit for humans..... why doesn't anyone take them up on that and takes them to court.

You don't take councils to court for matters like that you take them to the Local Government Ombudsman.

Councils have been taken to the LGO and found wanting for making tenants live in damp conditions and not housing children simply because they were over 16.

Also the best way to embarrass any organisation is to get pictures in the media before it needs to get that far.
