These roots are made for walking! Models clomp down runway of Lady Gaga-favored designer in 'nature-inspired' platforms | Mail Online
Nothing says high fashion like boots made from entangled pieces of bone.
Inspired by 'wild nature', Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen showcased shoes that looked like works of abstract sculpture for her Haute Couture Fall 2013 collection in Paris.
The 29-year-old wunderkind, a former intern of Alexander McQueen and Lady Gaga favorite, said she was focused on organisms and exoskeletons fused with Japanese culture.
Ms Van Herpen's avant garde designs, which use 3-D printing and laser cutting, have made her a rising star in the fashion world; Bjork and Daphne Guinness have also worn her creations.
