When I first started here, another contractor and myself were left to our own devices.
Get an email with a requirement, go and see the "client" to gather and analyse business requirements, write the app, UAT the app and deploy the app.
Everything was going swimmingly until a new programme manager arrived on the scene about 5 months ago, and since then the corporate grasp has been closing in on our working practices.
All the dead lines have been met and everyone I have done work for is very happy.
With the advent of the new programme manager it seems he wants visibility, prioritisation, can't remember the other bingo buzz words that have come up.
Yawn.
I left a previous perm role because it was becoming too much management and not enough developing which is what I love.
I'll stick it til March when the contract comes up for renewal and see how much non-dev work is involved.
