    Today's quality advert

    A Software Engineer is required for our media client. The successful candidate will design, develop and support the products and services which form the foundation of our client's interactive TV output. You'll be involved in the complete lifecycle from scoping through to testing and maintaining these key services to reach audiences across a range of digital platforms such as PC, TV and mobile devices.

    Essential
    *Real work experience in 2 or more of: Java, C++, C#, JavaScript, ActionScript, MHEG, Ruby, PHP
    *Internet protocols and technologies
    *A solid grounding in OOP
    *An understanding of Design Patterns
    *An appreciation of good user experience and prepared to be the users' advocate
    *An appreciation of BBC output and a passion for technology in the new media environment
    *A track record of producing maintainable code within collaborative environments
    *Experience of working with source control systems
    *Ability to rapidly acquire new software skills and to work with new technologies


    Would anyone care to guess the client?

      Further down there is mention of Liberate, OpenTV and MHEG. I seriously thought all those systems had died a death over the years.

      In fact I still have an HTML -> MHEG translator I wrote in 1997. I wonder if its of any use....
