To the OP - of course you should treat the work seriously. If your work-load is heavy and you want to make a good impression then crack on. It isn't just renewal that you should think of - also consider the LI recommendations, nurturing contacts for later on business deals etc...Comment

The most important thing to remember is, when challenged by a permie on the quality of your work, the correct response is to shout obscenities at the guy, question his manhood, point out that you're much better than him because you earn twice as much, then offer him outside for fisticuffs.
