Yes. And if your annual accounts fall due while you're on the bench, double yes.

The reason is that the amount of actual work they do will fluctuate markedly over the year. They work out how much they need to charge for a financial year and spread it over easy monthly instalments. This way they get regular income and you get a service as and when you need it.
