Could the ERG collapse the Government to force no deal Brexit

If a sitting government loses a no confidence vote ( such a vote is a possibility should TM deal get voted down again next week) two week are set aside to form a new government. this wold leave no deal to happen by default on March 29th.

Interestingly, this strategy does require Labour MPs to vote for a no confidence motion in the house knowing full well that it would lead to no deal.

Whilst the ERG might not actually vote in favour of a no confidence vote they could abstain which if labour voted for would be enough.

All is fair in love and politics.

Of course the ERG could try to collapse the government, there’s money to be made so it’s in their interests.

The vote to extend is only a request to the EU.

More likely outcome is ERG climbing down next week when May brings her deal back for a 3rd vote.

They may not like her deal, but they probably dislike the idea of a long A50 extension even more.

Have you not understood anything that has gone on in the past 3 days.

I'll try to explain it to you in language that a 3 year old would understand.

On Tuesday the 'grown ups' in the big brown building in London decided that they didn't like what Mrs May had to offer them, so they decided that the next day they would decide if they liked not having anything at all. They decided that they didn't like that either, but because a long time ago (2 years) they had decided they perhaps nothing might not be so bad afterall the new decision not to have nothing meant that unless they could decide on something before 29th march they would indeed have nothing. So they decided that they would come back to the big brown building the next day and decide to ask 27 other countries if they could delay not having nothing until such time as they could decide on what they did want. In the mean time Mrs May said she would let them decide if the really, really, really, didn't want what she had to offer, but they would have to come back to the big brown building next week to decide that. In the mean time the clock kept on ticking and the 29th March kept getting ever closer meaning that the 'grown ups' in the big brown building who decided that they didn't want to have nothing might end up with nothing.

There may well be a no deal, and then the government goes down. This would be a huge boon to Labour as a GE is held with a no deal backdrop and patients dying like flies in the hospitals whilst Brexiteers gloat on the sidelines.

I doubt it will happen however.
